Exploring the Mysteries of Wupatki National Monument
We’re on our way home from a blissful visit to Santa Barbara, where we visited friends we’ve met through our channel. The beautiful foliage, moist sea air, and a sailboat trip where we encountered whales were the tonics we needed.
It’s time to make our journey home, and this adventure photography trip wouldn’t be complete without revisiting Wupatki National Monument.
As many of you know, I have a fascination with ancient ruins, and I was thrilled to return to Wupatki National Monument to try our hands again at capturing the magic and mystery of this inspiring landscape and the remains of these pueblos.

After three months on the road, we’re wrapping up our Autumn Van Life Adventure Photography Series.
In this video series, we travel from Lake Powell to the Eastern Sierra to reunite with Matt’s brothers and their families. Here, we join Mark for his first major hike after surviving a lung transplant.
Next, we return to the Oregon Coast for more magnificent photography and wildlife.
To round out our 3-month journey, we travel to the Midwest and the Upper Peninsula, then back home by way of the Badlands in South Dakota, where we explore Matt’s Native American ancestry.
